ST. JOHN’S, Nfld. — The Outer Ring Road is now open as far as Logy Bay Road.

Percy Barrett, Minister of Works, Services and Transportation and Virginia Waters MHA, Walter Noel, announced the opening of this section of road and are pleased with how this has improved traffic flow in and out of the St. John’s area.

This section will provide an additional access to the Trans Canada Highway, and in addition to improving traffic flow, it has been a great boost to the economy of the area, says Noel.

Work is progressing on the final phase of the project, a two-lane arterial stretching from Logy Bay Road to the East White Hills Road. This 2.5 kilometre section is expected to be completed by fall 2003.
