New Shore Power System from Phillips
Phillips Industries
Phillips Industries’ new Qp Shore Power System makes a driver’s life just a little bit easier by allowing them to plug into external AC electrical power, as well as modem and cable TV connections, while reducing idling time and allowing trucks to be parked for extended periods without draining the batteries.
It acts as a direct connection from a 120 V AC power source to the truck’s sleeper cab and consists of an external receptacle typically mounted on the outside of the truck sleeper, which is wired to a junction box inside. Outlets on the sleeper walls are wired to the junction box and allow for easy plug-in of appliances, a TV cable and modem/fax line.
The system will initially be sold as a components kit through OEMs but expects to have an aftermarket version out soon.
