New treads deliver longer wear: Bandag

MUSCATINE, Iowa — Bandag has launched two new tread products which the company says can increase tread wear by up to 20 per cent.

Bandag Drive Mixed (BDM) and Bandag All-Position Mixed (BRM), molded from a new group of compounds, were developed specifically for the refuse and construction industries.

In developing BDM, engineers employed computer-aided design technology to enhance traction characteristics. According to company officials, the BDM is ideal for refuse and construction companies that deal with mud and snow in severe climates.

BRM was developed for on/off road and pickup and delivery applications in milder climates. Company officials say it offers the greatest benefit in the drive position, where its 26/32 inch tread depth delivers longer lasting, even wear.

BRM and BDM treads fit most tire sizes used in the construction and waste industries, including 11R22.5, 11R24.5 and 315/80R22.5.

On ad off road testing indicates that BRM and BDM treads last up to 20 per cent longer without sacrificing cut resistance.
