New VP to spur growth for Reefer Sales and Service

MISSISSAUGA, Ont. — Reefer Sales and Service of Mississauga, Ont. welcomes Allen Smith to its team as vice-president of sales, ComfortPro.

Reefer sells and services temperature-control systems and related parts for the transportation industry. “Al will be responsible for further developing our business in auxiliary power units,” says Ken Henwood, Reefer’s president.

Auxiliary power units (APUs) are known for reducing energy use and emissions. They cut down on the need to idle the main engine for reasons such as driver comfort.

Henwood says Smith has played a major role in the growth of the North American APU market. Before joining Reefer, Smith was director of sales
for truck products in North America at Teleflex Canada Inc.

He is a member of the Truck Maintenance Council of the American Trucking Associations and has served on several idle-reduction committees, including the TMC and the Canadian Fleet Maintenance Seminar.
