HUMBER VALLEY, Nfld. — Humber Valley Paving Limited, a Corner Brook company, has been awarded almost $3 million for road upgrades for Humber Valley and Humber East.

Road work areas will include the much needed section of the Trans-Canada Highway between Power House Bridge and Pynn’s Brook, a section of Route 420, Godfather Cove Road, a portion of the old Trans-Canada Highway running through Pasadena and many local roads in Howley.

Minister of Works, Services and Transportation, Percy Barrett, along with Rick Woodford, MHA for Humber Valley and Bob Mercer, MHA for Humber East announced a contract deal for $2,839,592 in order to subsidize the much awaited paving and road repairs in the area.

Barrett says these improvements show the province’s commitment to building the province’s transportation infrastructure and creating easier and safer conditions for drivers.

The road improvements will begin immediately and be completed by Sept. 30.
