TORONTO, Ont. — The Ontario Trucking Association (OTA) and Bridgestone are now accepting nominations for the 2011 Bridgestone Ontario Trucking Association Truck Hero Award. Carriers have been asked to nominate drivers who deserve to be recognized because of their courageousness, quick thinking and integrity in the face of an emergency.

To be eligible for the award, nominees must be Canadian truck drivers, employed full-time by an Ontario-based trucking company. The incident to be recognized must have taken place in North America between January 1, 2010 and September 30, 2011. All nominations are due by Sept. 30.

The Bridgestone Ontario Trucking Association Truck Hero Award will be presented at OTA’s convention which takes place in Toronto in November.
