Nominations now open for MVSA Safety to Motor Transport Award

TORONTO, Ont. — The Motor Vehicle Safety Association (MVSA) has announced that nominations for the MVSA Safety to Motor Transport Award (the Award) are now open, and being accepted until Apr. 24.

 

The award honours an individual for making an outstanding contribution to road safety in Ontario. All nominations will be judged by a selection committee, based upon criteria, including: current and past driving record, road safety promotion and community involvement.

 

The selection committee is made up of representatives from the transportation industry that may include the Ontario Ministry of Transportation, Ontario Provincial Police, Ontario Trucking Association, Ontario Motor Coach Association, Ontario Safety League, Transportation Health & Safety Association, and is chaired by the MVSA president.

 

The award winner will be presented on May 13, 2009, at the MVSA Awards evening banquet. The winner will receive a trophy, a custom diamond ring, and a $500 travel voucher.
