McLEAN, VA – Kenworth, International and Peterbilt will vie for the coveted title of Commercial Truck of the Year.

The American Truck Dealers (ATD) has revealed the three nominees for the 2015 honor, recognizing the top truck entered in the vocational and heavy-haul and severe-duty category.

The nominees are the Kenworth T880 Vocational Truck with PACCAR MX-13 Engine, the International WorkStar 7600, and the Peterbilt Model 567. Details of the three trucks can be found here.

The winner will be announced on Saturday, Jan. 24, at the 2015 ATD Convention & Expo in San Francisco, which runs January 22 to 25.

A panel of judges will test drive the trucks, and evaluate them at Manheim San Francisco Bay Jan. 19. The judging categories include innovation, design, safety, driver ergonomics and comfort.

Other events at the ATD convention include keynote remarks from ATD chairman Eric Jorgensen, president and CEO of JX Enterprises Inc., and Thomas Frey, executive director and senior futurist at the DaVinci Institute.

New for 2015 is a networking general session. Truck dealers will also meet with their manufacturer executives at 11 make meetings and with exhibitors in the ATD Expo Zone.

The ATD convention runs concurrently with the NADA Convention and Expo.

Last year’s winners were International’s ProStar heavy-duty and TerraStar medium-duty models.
