Nova Scotia highway bids now online

HALIFAX, N.S. — The Department of Transportation and Public Works is keeping up with the technologies of the 21st century with its highway construction tendering system now online.

This electronic bid system provides immediate savings to taxpayers and businesses by reducing the costs for mailing and distribution. It also lowers the turn-around time between the original requests and the final contract awards.

A recent tender call for pavement upgrading on the TCH 104 east of Oxford marks the first time the province has used the electronic form for seeking bids.

The e-bids are now a part of the electronic bulletin board for tender listings and award information, and can be found by visiting www.gov.ns.ca/finance/tour.
