Nova Scotia lifts spring weight restrictions

HALIFAX, N.S. — Spring weight restrictions have been temporarily lifted in Nova Scotia, the Ministry of Transportation and Public Works reports.

The spring weight restrictions were first put into place Jan. 23. However, they have since been lifted until 12:01 a.m. Feb. 25.

Truckers should be aware that individual roads may be posted for lower weights throughout the province.

The following roads are currently exempt from spring weight restrictions:

Colchester County:
East Prince Street From Truro Town Line easterly to Gasper Cross, 1.2 km.
Gasper Cross From East Prince Street northerly to CNR tracks, 0.19 km.

Kings County:
Cornwallis Avenue (Authority # 0511) From the junction of Trunk 1 in New Minas northerly to the end, 0.6 km.

Victoria County:
Old Margaree Road From TCH 105 to the Baddeck Landfill site, 1.4 km.

Yarmouth County:
Route 340 From the junction of Trunk 1 at Hebron northeasterly to Route 203 at Carlton, 20.3 km.
Route 203 From Route 340 at Carlton southeasterly to Carlton River Bridge, 0.3 km.
