NRCan looking for more idle free zones
OTTAWA, (April 14, 2003) — Natural Resources Canada’s FleetSmart Program and the Office of Energy Efficiency is looking for more truck stops and truck dealers to participate in their second “Idle Free/Quiet Zone” campaign. The first campaign, which took place between November and December 2002, included the participation of 18 truck stops that made their parking lots idle free zones. Three truck dealerships participated in the program.
The goal of the program is to reduce fuel consumption, improve air quality and reduce noise on truck stops for the betterment of drivers and surrounding neighbours.
