Ontario holds speed-limiter hearing this Thursday

TORONTO – There’s been very little notice, but if you want to express your opinion about Ontario’s proposal to mandate that all heavy trucks use speed-limiting devices, public hearings will be held at the provincial legislature on Thursday, June 5.

Specifically, you would be commenting on “Bill 41 – An Act to amend the Highway Traffic Act in relation to the use of speed-limiting systems in commercial motor vehicles.” You would be appearing before the Standing Committee on Justice Policy.

If you want to make an oral submission to the committee, you’ll have to contact the committee clerk by noon today, June 3.

If you want to make a written submission, you have until Thursday June 5 at 5:00 p.m.
