Ontario issues winter driving reminder

TORONTO, Ont. — The provincial government has issued a reminder to motorists to plan ahead and be prepared for winter driving conditions.

Among other things, drivers are being reminded to:

– keep a winter survival kit in their vehicles that includes a shovel, extra clothing, candles and matches
– plan ahead and check current road and weather conditions
– changing trip plans if a storm is expected.

The Ministry of Transportation has also published regional phone numbers drivers can call for regional road condition updates:
