MISSISSAUGA, Ont. — Ryder System has named technician Robert Fulton as grand prize winner of its 2009 Ryder Performance Challenge Program for Canada. Fulton, who works at Ryder’s London service facility, was presented with the keys to his new onyx black GMC truck during a surprise event.

The Ryder Performance Challenge is an incentive program that rewards maintenance employees who demonstrate exceptional productivity, quality and customer service performance, while ensuring safe behaviour. Participants who meet specific performance targets in these areas earn cash payouts, as well as raffle tickets that are automatically entered into an annual grand prize drawing for one of five brand new GMC pick-up trucks.

In this year’s grand prize drawing for the 2009 program, Ryder selected five regional winners across Canada and the US to win the 2010 GMC Sierra 1500 pick-ups. Regional winners of $3,000, $2,000, and $1,000 cash awards were also selected. The remaining four grand prize winners will be surprised in similar events, according to officials.

About 1,700 maintenance employees earned cash payouts and/or raffle tickets by meeting their established business goals during this year’s program.
