Ontario truck inspector wins CVSA championships

COLUMBUS, Ohio – Richard Robinson, a roadside truck inspector from Ontario, beat out 32 other truck cops to win the Commercial Vehicle Safety Alliance‘s North American Inspectors Championship in Ohio last week.

Robinson, a CVSA-certified North American Standard Level I inspector, was named Grand Champion and awarded the Jimmy K. Ammons Grand Champion Award for his performances in seven competitions, including the Level I Inspection and North American Standard HazMat/Transportation of Dangerous Goods Inspection.

John Jackson of Alberta also did well, winning the North American Standard Level V Motorcoach Inspection.

James Canard of Arkansas received the highest points total among American inspectors, while Gamaliel Perez got the top score for Mexican inspectors.

The John Youngblood Award of Excellence went to Christopher Smithen of Nevada.
