DETROIT, Mich. — A Richmond Hill trucker is in a Detroit jail, after allegedly neglecting to declare $2 million in cash that was stowed in his tractor-trailer, the Detroit Free Press reports.

The trucker allegedly told US Customs he had only $700 in cash. However, an X-ray machine revealed much more than that stowed away in hidden compartments.

It’s the largest bulk cash smuggling case ever discovered at the crossing, according to the Free Press. Also confiscated were six cell phones, a laptop computer and $1,220 in Canadian cash.

The trucker is accused of smuggling and making a false statement to officers.
