OTA announces labour law seminar

TORONTO — Trucking CEOs, senior managers and others responsible for labour and employment matters won’t want to miss this upcoming OTA seminar that covers a number of issues that have an impact on profitability. This full day seminar, which includes lunch, takes place on Feb. 16 in Toronto.

The seminar will several issues, including:

— The Shifting Landscape of Labour and Employment Law: Privacy legislation, use of information from black boxes, criminalization of health and safety laws, and unjust dismissal under the Canada Labour Code.

–Transportation Law Updates: GMAC v. TCT Logistics Inc. case; Sager Transport v. Varga case (collecting from load brokers)

— WSIB Changes Employers Need to Know About: Changes to the experience rating program and how this has impacted rebates/surcharges for the trucking industry; and the proposed new return to work rules and how these will impact trucking employers.

The cost is $250 for members, and $500 for non-members.
