TORONTO, Ont. — The Ontario Trucking Association (OTA) and Bridgestone are now accepting nominations for the 2012 Bridgestone Ontario Trucking Association Truck Hero Award. Organizers are looking for carriers to nominate drivers who deserve to be recognized because of their courageousness, quick thinking and integrity in the face of an emergency.

To be eligible for the award, nominees must be Ontario truck drivers, employed full-time by an Ontario-based trucking company. The incident to be recognized must have taken place in North America between Jan. 1, 2011 and Sept. 30, 2012. All nominations are due by Oct. 15.

The Bridgestone Ontario Trucking Association Truck Hero Award will be presented at OTA’s annual convention which takes place in Toronto in November.

The winner will receive a $1,500 cheque, a trophy, plus a trip for two to Toronto for the convention.
