TORONTO, Ont. — The Ontario Trucking Association (OTA) is launching its search for professional truck drivers to serve on the 2003-2004 Road Knights Team.

The Road Knights are full-time drivers with first class driving records who serve as industry ambassadors by pulling off the road a couple of days each month to meet with media, driving schools, community groups, seniors groups and road safety organizations.

They also visit elementary schools and bring their trucks along to introduce the next generation of drivers to the trucking industry. The Road Knights also meet with driving students in order to emphasize safety, professionalism and courtesy.

Team members are selected by a panel of industry, government, police and media representatives after every two-year term.

Nominees must be based in Ontario and currently employed as a full-time driver, either as a company driver or owner/operators. Deadline for entries is Dec. 11. For further information call 416-249-7401.
