OTA releases Executive Briefing details

TORONTO, Ont. — The Ontario Trucking Association (OTA) is once again hosting the popular executive briefing at its annual convention Nov. 11-12.

This year’s executive briefing will feature two segments involving big names from the trucking industry who will share their insight and advice on crucial industry issues.

Briefing number one will be held Nov. 11 at 2:45 p.m. and is entitled "Outlook on the Industry TL/LTL." It will explore the new challenges and opportunities the industry is facing in 2005. U.S. and Canadian-based trucking executives will share their thoughts. Guests include: Russell Gerdin, Heartland Express; James Staley, Roadway Group Yellow Roadway Corp.; Stan Dunford, Contrans Income Fund; and Rick Gaetz, Vitran Corporation.

Following the first briefing, the second briefing will be held at 4 p.m. on Nov. 11 and is called "Navigating Through the Perfect Storm." Issues to be addressed include rising fuel and insurance prices, the driver shortage, Hours of Service regulations and border wait times.

Presenters are to include: Julie Tanguay, L.E. Walker Transport; Norm Sneyd, Highland Transport; Rob Penner, Bison Transport; Evan MacKinnon, MacKinnon Transport; Scott Tilley, The Tandet Group; Wendell Erb, Erb Transport; and Daniel Einwechter, Challenger Motor Freight.
