OTA reveals speakers at its upcoming executive conference

by Truck News

TORONTO, Ont. — The Ontario Trucking Association (OTA) is hosting its executive conference once again at the Ritz-Carlton in downtown Toronto this year and has revealed its lineup of speakers today.

The event is set to take place November 9-10 at the Ritz-Carlton Hotel and will celebrate the association’s 90th anniversary. Organizers say the conference’s format will mirror last year’s.

The speakers include:

· Michele Romanow was only 28 years old when she started three companies. Now, Michele is the newest and youngest ever entrepreneur to join CBC’s hit show Dragons’ Den.

· Clara Hughes is six-time Olympic medalist and a mental health advocate. Clara is the only athlete in history to win multiple medals in both summer and winter Olympic Games. Clara inspires people toward success in all areas of their lives. She went through it all — struggle with depression and believing that each of us can overcome challenges to become the champions we are meant to be.

· Peggy Baumgartner and Peter Jensen. Performance coaches Peggy and Peter will lead attendees through a workshop similar to those they administer at the Executive Business Program at Smith School of Business (University of Queens). When not working at Queens or with her corporate clients; Peggy works to prepare Olympic athletes for competition. For the past three Olympic cycles, she has led SWOT Team workshops for the Women’s Hockey team heading into the Games, an experience Hayley Wickenheiser described as “the most stressful part of the entire quadrennial”—and one that numerous players have cited as a factor in their gold medal success. Peter is a top-rated instructor in seven programs at Queen’s Smith School of Business including the Queen’s MBA and EMBA. He is the founder of Performance Coaching Inc., one of Canada’s leading corporate training firms. Fortune 500 companies in eight countries have benefited from Peter’s programs. Peter has attended eight Olympic games as a member of the Canadian Olympic team and has helped numerous athletes achieve high performance levels under intense pressure including, most recently, the gold-medal winning Women’s Hockey team.
· Jim Cuddy, Canadian singer-songwriter primarily associated with the band Blue Rodeo will entertain you and your guests with his music.
As always there will be a number of opportunities for members to network and catch up with other industry participants. OTA`s Next Generation will also be out in full force participating in a blended program.
