Parts for Trucks VP of Sales Rudi Foster Retiring

HALIFAX – After spending nearly 50 years working in the heavy-duty truck parts business, Parts for Trucks Vice President of Sales Rudi Foster has announced he is retiring on Sept 30.

His career includes working 34 years for one of the largest distributors of truck and trailer parts in Atlantic Canada.

When he started with the company in 1981, although it was well known locally, it was just beginning to expand in Atlantic Canada. Under him Parts for Trucks embarked on a path of continuous growth establishing a network that now includes 15 locations in four provinces, according to the company. Along with branch growth partnering with vendors and product lines were also significantly expanded.

During Foster’s career he was involved with Vipar Heavy Duty and industry associations as well, plus countless one-on-one meetings, receptions and trade shows. He was among a a small group of people who organized the first Atlantic Truck Show hosted by the Atlantic Provinces Trucking Assocation.

“Rudi has represented Parts for Trucks skillfully and with enthusiasm,” the company said in a news release. “He could easily fill a book with acquaintances made over his career with many developing into close friendships.”

Foster’s plans include more time for golf and loyally following the Halifax Mooseheads and Boston Bruins, along with spending time with his wife Eleanor, children Jason and Tara and their grandson Gavin.
