Penske goes Hollywood

HOLLYWOOD, Calif. — Rather than interrupt a viewing experience with pesky commercials, product placement has become a standard marketing practice.

The cars, clothes, cell phones, food and drinks used in movies and television today is done mostly by design.

Navistar recently paid big bucks to have the new International ProStar feature prominently in a new trucking documentary, and now Penske Truck Leasing is getting in on the action.

The truck leasing giant recently selected California-based, Studio Services, Inc. to represent its vehicles for product placement opportunities in film and television programs.

“Our trucks have appeared in numerous television programs, feature films, and independent films over the years,” said Jim Feenstra, senior vice-president of marketing with Penske. “Working with Studio Services will make that process easier for the entertainment industry while also providing additional brand exposure.”

As an authorized Penske rental agent and a leading vehicle supplier to the entertainment industry, Studio Services will also facilitate Penske truck rentals for commercial use by film and television crews across North America.
