PeopleNet Communications has released PerformX, a diagnostics product designed to help fleet managers track and manage operating costs.
PerformX communicates with the engine’s J1708 bus and uses the same wireless technology as PeopleNet’s InTouch Fleet Management systems to send data. Performance reports are sent directly to a manager’s e-mail address. Reports can include odometer readings, idle time, fuel efficiency, excess speed, and high RPM readings. Alarms alert managers when a vehicle travels over a predetermined speed, makes sudden starts or stops and reaches a certain odometer reading.
PerformX is offered as an option to PeopleNet’s Intouch G2X, which offers GPS satellite locating technology, in-cab e-mail and voice communication capabilities to connect everyone in a fleet’s supply chain.
