Peterbilt builds 1 millionth truck

by Today's Trucking Staff

DENTON, TX – Peterbilt has now built 1 million trucks, with a Model 567 Heritage model rolling off the assembly line at its manufacturing facility in Denton, Texas.

“The production of one million trucks is a proud moment,” said Kyle Quinn, general manager.

The company that marks its trucks with a red oval has been producing vehicles since 1939, and opened its Denton plant in 1980 with the production of the Model 359.

The millionth truck will actually be awarded to one of 1,200 “SuperFans” who submitted entries during a search in Canada and the U.S. The keys will be handed over during the upcoming Mid-America Trucking Show in Louisville, Kentucky.
