KALAMAZOO, Mich. — Dana Corporation recently announced that Peterbilt Motors Company has elected to offer the improved Dana Spicer E-1202I steer axle series as standard equipment for its North American Class 8 commercial vehicles.

“This new standard steer axle offering at Peterbilt is further evidence of Dana’s commitment to product innovations and solutions that meet the needs of our customers,” said Nick Cole, president, Dana’s Heavy Vehicle Technologies and Systems Group. “Dana has long been a proud partner with Peterbilt in the North American commercial-vehicle market, and we appreciate their continued support of our axle, brake, driveshaft, and wheel-end technologies.”

Recent improvements to the E-1202I steer axle series increase axle durability while maintaining the axle’s lightweight design – helping customers drive down operational costs, said Greg DiMarco, vice president and general manager of Dana’s Commercial Vehicle Systems Division.

Dana Spicer E-1200I series steer axles were previously standard on Peterbilt trucks, and the improved E-1202I series is now standard. Available axle models include the Dana Spicer E-1002I, E-1202I, E-1202W, E-1322W, and E-1462I steer axles for use on Peterbilt class 8 vehicles.
