LEHIGH VALLEY, Penn. — Mack Trucks’ Matt Peterson has concluded his term as chairman of the National Private Truck Council (NPTC).

Peterson was the first supplier member to serve as chair of the NPTC board. The organization is the US trade association dedicated to representing private carriers. Peterson served as chairman for two years.

Peterson helped the organization increase awareness about driver safety through the promotion of high visibility seatbelts. The association also saw membership increase under Peterson’s watch.

“I have been extremely privileged to serve as NPTC Chairman,” Peterson said. “The opportunity to work along side so many industry executives has given me a much better appreciation of the passion and commitment they have not only for their own companies, but for trucking as a whole. And I’m very proud of what we’ve been able to accomplish together these past two years.”
