Phillips award streak stretches to a second year

SANTA FE SPRINGS, Calif. — For the second year in a row, Phillips Industries got the nod as the NAPA Heavy Duty Manufacturer of the Year.

Phillips is a supplier, innovator and manufacturer of advanced electrical and air brake interface equipment for the industry.

To determine the recipient of the award, NAPA Heavy Duty Regional Managers evaluate their top suppliers on criteria that assist NAPA in meeting their customers’ expectations. Phillips Industries, again for 2008, received the highest overall rating from this group of NAPA managers for their professionalism, knowledge and the support given to the NAPA stores.

“Phillips Industries really covets this award because it comes from such a successful organization as NAPA and because we are judged against some of the largest and best suppliers in the industry,” said Bob Phillips, CEO and president of the manufacturer.

Phillips Industries was also recently recognized with the Atlantic Division Best Field Support Award from Palmar, a Quebec-based heavy-duty distributor. Palmar is the Heavy Duty Division of Uni-Select and operates 25 stores throughout eastern Canada.

In 2006, Phillips expanded their commitment to the Canadian market when they opened a distribution center in Mississauga, Ont. Phillips Industries now operates three distribution facilities in the U.S. and Canada.
