Pikes Peak champ driven to build on last years success

NORTH HOLLYWOOD, Calif. — 2006 proved to be a very exciting year for Mike Ryan Motorsports.

Ryan set his sixth world record at the 2006 Pikes Peak International Hill Climb, beating last years time by three seconds, with a finishing time of 12.43.66.

The Outdoor Channel broadcast of the Hill Climb aired a total of four dates with the first broadcast being a free weekend for Direct TV subscribers. The 2007 Hill Climb will once again receive national television coverage, but specific details have yet to be released.

Footage of the race truck at Pikes Peak is being featured in a three minute Internet video for Phillip Morris on What It Takes To Be A Winner. In addition, the race truck was profiled on The Travel Channels Outrageous Trucks and The History Channels Modern Marvels: Mountain Roads.

Ryan’s race truck also appeared in the video game market, and Colin McRae Rally for Playstation 2 will also be released in early 2007.

Ryan will once again be showing off his Freightliner Century Class S/ T race truck at several Truck and Trade Shows in 2007 including: World Ag Expo in Tulare, Calif.; Mid America Truck Show in Louisville, Ky.; Truck Show Las Vegas, Great American Trucking Show in Dallas, The Truck Show Latino in Pomona, Calif. and SEMA.

The 85th Pikes Peak International Hill Climb will be held on July 21.
