PMTC announces agenda for 2026 conference and AGM in Niagara Falls, Ont.
Artificial intelligence, cargo theft, safety and insurance will be among the key topics at the Private Motor Truck Council of Canada’s 2026 annual conference at the Fallsview Casino Resort in Niagara Falls, Ont.
“Each year those who attend the PMTC Annual Conference tell us it is one of the best educational and networking values they receive in the transportation industry. We believe this year’s line up of speakers continues to build on that reputation,” said PMTC president Mike Millian, in a news release.
The two-day conference will kick off June 16 with the association’s annual general meeting open to the members only, followed by the exhibition hall. The day will also feature the presentation of the Rick Austin Dispatcher of the Year award and inductions into the PMTC Hall of Fame for Professional Drivers.

Day-one seminars include an introduction to the 2025 PMTC benchmarking survey, updates from the Canadian Council of Motor Transport Administrators (CCMTA) and Transport Canada, and a session focused on mentorship and career growth in transportation and supply chain.
Evening events include a networking reception, the chairwoman’s dinner, presentation of the driver training scholarship, and the PMTC Canada Private Fleet Safety Awards.
The second day begins with the vehicle graphics awards, followed by sessions on building a culture of care, the future of technology beyond compliance, cargo theft risks and controls, practical AI applications for fleet leaders, and aligning insurance, contracts and operations. A session exploring Canada’s ongoing push to reduce interprovincial trade barriers is scheduled to close off the seminars for the day.
The Young Leaders Group (YLG) will host a luncheon, present education bursaries, and introduce students participating in the 2026 mentorship program and the day will conclude with a closing cocktail reception.
