PMTC Launching Driver’s License Verification Service

OAKVILLE, ON — The Private Motor Truck Council of Canada (PMTC) has is adding a new, discounted service for its members needing to verify truck driver licenses.

Beginning the first of September, it’s launching the “PMTC Driver’s License Verification System”

For $2.75 per check, PMTC members will have access to the only national verification database in Canada, and will also receive this service and value at preferential pricing.

“While companies must run full drivers abstracts at least once per year, at a cost of a minimum of $12 per check, companies should, in order to show due diligence, to protect their assets, protect their company from potential litigation, compliance issues, as well as possible vehicle impoundment, run verification checks more frequently throughout the year”, said PMTC President Mike Millian.

According to the group, Running a nationwide license status and class check is definitely a best practice, and something that shows a company is doing everything it can to ensure driver license qualification.

“Driver verification is swiftly becoming the industry norm because the rewards are immediate”, said George Sutej, president of VerX Direct. “Home Hardware has been using our system for its three national distribution centers for four years.”

Ordering the verification checks is simple and can be done from your desk, according to PMTC. You will usually receive a report back on the status of your driver’s licenses within minutes. Once your drivers list is set up, you can submit multiple driver’s licenses for verification with one click of the mouse.

“The driver’s license verification check is more cost effective than running abstracts on our fleet of drivers 4 times a year. We are very pleased with the website, the reports and the service we get from the personnel at VerX,” said Dennis Shantz, director of fleet services for Home Hardware.
