MILTON, Ont. — The Private Motor Truck Council of Canada (PMTC) has slotted its next educational seminar for October 20 in Milton, Ont.

The seminar will run from 9 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. and will cover two separate topics.

The first topic will be a legal update.

“Frequently we hear that employee satisfaction and attrition, and protecting fleet safety records, are the two main concerns and expenses for our members,” said PMTC president Mike Millian. “Therefore, we have asked Heather Devine, recognized again this year as one of Canada’s best lawyers in transportation law, to put together a presentation for us that will deal with these two issues factually, with the intent to provide solutions that lead to reduced costs and expenses.”

Devine will touch on how and when to defend your company’s CVOR, what to do when your drivers recieve a traffic ticket and when to enter a plea of guilty. She will also go into the legal aspects regarding human rights complaints and medical marijuana.

The second topic will cover how to effectively use social media.  Erin Mares of BeBranded, will cover the in’s and outs of how to effectively engage your customers and potential customers using social media. She will cover why companies should engage in social media, how and why to set social media policies, common etiquette points regarding abuse, complaints & praise and top 10 social media do’s & don’ts.

Space is limited, so people are encouraged to register early by contacting Vanessa Cox at info@pmtc.ca. Registration is $25 for a PMTC member, and $100 for a non member.
