TRACADIE-SHEILA, N.B. — The RCMP is advising drivers that with the approach of the holiday season, it will be stepping up its enforcement activities on highways across the Acadian Peninsula.

Starting this week, police visibility is being increased and roadblocks will be set up on a regular basis across the peninsula in order to detect impaired drivers and, at the same time, carry out other roadside checks, in a bid to prevent traffic accidents.

As well, officers are reminding the public how important it is to not drink and drive and to use a designated driver or take a taxi when drinking.
