Portable power and all that Jazz
Xantrex Technology
Designed for use on the road or at home during emergency blackouts, the Jazz portable Power 250 uses an electronic device, known as an inverter, to
produce power from a battery source.
Jazz has two AC electric outlets to run items like TVs, hand-held games, computers, and lamps. DC power from the system can also jump-start or trucks. Unlike standard jump-start products, Jazz offers the advantage of a safety feature that warns (and shuts down) if cables are connected incorrectly to a vehicle’s battery.
The Jazz system integrates a 17 amp-hour battery and 250-watt inverter to produce AC power. For convenience and safety, the product has a built-in fluorescent light. With a run time of more than twenty hours, the light source is highly useful during an extended power outage. The system also features a DC power port that can be used to run 12-volt products like mobile phones or air pumps.
The unit can be recharged by plugged into a standard wall outlet using the AC charger or from a vehicle’s cigarette lighter socket using the DC charge cable, or by using a solar panel.
The Jazz unit also includes: A true plug-in-and-forget recharging system that maintains the battery at its optimal charge state; Battery status indicators that display the battery’s charge level; The ability to significantly extend operating times by connecting to an external battery using supplied
cables; and a sealed, AGM lead acid battery that is consumer replaceable and located behind an easy-to-remove access panel.
