Producers Oilfield Services expands oilfield trucking with carrier buy
CALGARY, (May 10, 2005) — Producers Oilfield Services announced it will purchase all of the shares of 675526 Alberta Ltd. — parent company of Grande Prairie, Alta.-based Neil Withers Trucking.
NWT is a leading private oilfield trucking and pipe storage management company hauling to the oil and gas industry in northern Alberta. It is experienced in service rig moving and support equipment business. It offers a total spectrum of oilfield equipment consisting of single and tandem axle equipment, winch tractors, pickers and bed trucks of all sizes. Last year it generated revenues of $11 million.
The company certainly has a proud tradition in the oilpatch sector. “Neil Withers started his Grande Prairie based oilfield trucking business at the same time that Pierre Trudeau started the NEP recession,” the company states on its website. “The timing was perfect, because nobody’s tougher than Neil Withers when the going is tough.”
Producers Oilfield, which is chaired by Mullen Transportation President and CEO Murray Mullen, is an energy services company whose operating subsidiaries provides trucking, disposal and other services to oil and gas producers.
The deal will be satisfied with a combination of cash (approximately $13.6 million) and the issuance of 1,000,000 common shares of Producers. The transaction, subject to duel diligence, is scheduled to close May 31, 2005.
Since its year-end of 2004, NWT had purchased about $2 million in new assets, all of which are in service today.
Producers says that the access to capital that it provides should enable NWT to continue growing especially by way of market consolidation in certain areas of the oilfield services sector.
Formerly known as Moveitonline, Producers treats oilfield waste including used production and drilling fluids through its Producers Disposal Services subsidiary. Through its Patch Point Enterprises subsidiary, the company provides construction, trucking, and pipefitting operations. Through its Ironlink unit, Producers Oilfield Services provides customers with its Moveitonline product — a computer-based application used to track and report waste disposal activity.
