SAN DIEGO, Calif. — PepsiCo’s Frito-Lay division announced it will replace its existing fleet management system with Qualcomm’s satellite-based mobile communications solution.

OmniTRACS and OmniExpress and TrailerTRACS systems will be installed in over 5,000 trucks for Frito-Lay.

According to Gary Berger, director of supply chain optimization for Frito-Lay, they will incorporate a fully integrated system that includes MVP in-vehicle computers with the FleetAdvisor application, which includes driver logs, automatic state mileage collection, real-time distribution resources and performance data.
