SAN DIEGO, Calif. — QUALCOMM is lending its OmniTRACS and GlobalTRACS mobile communications systems to the racing world by helping track scores, monitor locations, evaluate race courses and even help communicate to a driver when to increase or decrease speed during a race.

Race organizers of the National Guard Great Race have chosen QUALCOMM as the official satellite communications partner for the 12th straight year. The OmniTRACS system will enable Great Race officials to transmit scoring information from remote locations along the race route and also provide competitors and staff safety along the racecourse by through continuous communications capability.

QUALCOMM is also sponsoring the Manring Brothers Racing Team and the QUALCOMM Baja race car. The GlobalTRACS equipment management system will be used to help track the location of the car at all times, provide data before each race, and log data from the entire event for review following the race.
