Quebec truckers named two of best employers in Canada
TORONTO, (Jan. 4, 2005) — A Lachine, Que-based food hauler has cracked the top 10 in Report on Business magazine’s annual list of the 50 best places to work in Canada.
Trans West Logistique was recognized by the respected business publication for its “bonus plan for truck drivers. Drivers earn above-industry-average wages. And employees direct their own career development.”
While the 430-employee company’s voluntary turnover of 29 per cent was somewhat high in comparison to other companies on the list, it remains low for the trucking industry.
Also making the top 50 was Quebec trucking firm Groupe Robert. At the 22 spot, the 2,200-employee carrier, run by Claude Robert, was noted for its exceptional truck safety and driver training programs.
