Racing Powerhouse Nabs Truck Training Prize
READING, PA— Penske, a well-known name in American motorsports and the international racing community, has 23 national championships under its belt and their trophy case continues to grow.
Penske Truck Leasing continues the winning tradition and forms its own winning formula, this time for a preventative maintenance training program for heavy and medium-duty trucks.
The latest in their trophy case? The 2013 National Excellence in Training Award from Automotive Training Managers Council (ATMC), a non-profit organization dedicated to training and professional development within the auto and truck service industry.
“When we’re able to complete high-quality PMs consistently, we are better able to support our truck leasing, truck rental and contract maintenance customers and increase vehicle uptime,” said Bill Jacobelli, senior vice president of maintenance for Penske Truck Leasing.
Penske’s training program was judged on the following criteria:
- Program Overview
- Needs Analysis
- Learning Objectives
- Program Elements/Materials
- Delivery Methods
- Measurement of Intended Outcome
- Program Sustainment/Maintenance
“This new comprehensive curriculum helps drive our vision of an industry-leading maintenance workforce, and we thank ATMC for recognizing our successful efforts,” Jacobelli said.
