RIVERVIEW, N.B. — Recent concerns by Riverview town council about the high incidence of speeding on the Petitcodiac River Causeway has produced results.

Ward 3 Councilor, Gerry Forsythe, told this week’s council meeting that 20 speeding tickets have been handed out on the causeway by the Codiac Regional RCMP over the last month.

“It is good to see that a problem identified by council has been followed up so promptly,” says Forsythe.

Councilor, David Burrell, agreed noting he personally witnessed four tickets being handed out.

The Riverview councilors, pointing to a rash of accidents on the causeway in November, suggested at the time that speeding drivers were the major factor behind them.
