CALGARY, Alta. — A new Web site allows truckers to check real-time road conditions across Alberta and B.C.

www.Drive-West.com is a pilot project aimed at drivers in Western Canada. It provides information on road closures, delays, incidents, construction zones and road conditions. Drivers are urged to use the site to plan their routes and avoid delays.

The site ties into the existing Drive B.C. Web site and uses the same Web-based technology. The pilot project will run until March 31, 2006 allowing partners to evaluate the technology’s capabilities and suitability for future applications, the Alberta government has announced.

An online survey allows drivers to provide feedback on the Web site.
