STOUFFVILLE, Ont. – During the Stouffville District Secondary School’s commencement ceremony last Thursday, the lucky and hard-working winners of the Don Anderson Haulage Business and Technology scholarships were announced.

Given to college-bound students, Madison Langlois and Thas Ganeshathasan, the scholarships help provide financial assistance to students with an above-average GPA, who are attending college with a business and/or technology major.

Langlois, an Ontario Scholar, plans on studying marketing and business at Durham College. Ganeshathasan, who was on both the basketball and badminton team at his school, will be attending Mohawk College to study electrical engineering in September.

“Being from a very ‘hands-on’ type of business, we think that it’s important to encourage students to pursue practical learning through education and training at the college level”, said Michael Anderson, president of Don Anderson Haulage in Gormley, Ontario.
