AIRDRIE, Alta. — The thefts of identical red Kenworth trucks are raising concern in Southern Alberta after the second rig was heisted during the weekend.

The latest incident saw a 2003 W900L Kenworth taken from the locked yard of Kootenay Wood Transport in Airdrie, Alta., along with its attached 2006 Western SuperV trailer and a load of lumber, reported the Calgary Sun.

The owner of the truck, Ken Bilben, estimates the total theft at about $200,000 and is offering a $10,000 reward for its return. Bilben suspects that the thief behind the wheel of his rig is the same culprit who stole a truck a month ago from Crossfield, Alta.

The truck stolen from Crossfield was the same make, model, year and colour of Bilben’s truck. In that incident the truck was recovered two days later near Sicamous, B.C.

Anyone with information on the theft of the Kenworth can contact Kootenay Wood Transport at 1-800-661-1523 or the RCMP.
