BRAMPTON, Ont. — The second annual Road Today Truck Show takes place at the Powerade Centre in Brampton this weekend.

Organizers call the show “a true reflection of the changing face of the trucking industry with an ideal blend of cultural extravaganza.”

SelecTrucks of Canada is the title sponsor of the show, which will feature more than 100 exhibitors at an indoor and outdoor trade show. There will also be a show’n’shine competition, road safety awareness sessions, ethnic food stalls and kids and family entertainment areas.

Show’n’shine contestants will have the chance to compete for more than $10,000 in cash prizes and giveaways, according to organizers.

Another highlight will be the CN Obie Train, a six-foot-high scale model of a CN locomotive which will be used to educate visitors on rail safety.

The Insurance Bureau of Canada will also be there, with its D.U.M.B. Car 2.0 (Distractions Undermining Motorist Behaviour) to address issues related to road safety and driver distraction.

Entry to the show is free and the first 2,000 visitors will receive a free T-shirt, organizers say. For a complete schedule, visit www.roadtodaytruckshow.com.
