TORONTO, Ont. — Brian J. Patterson has been appointed President and General Manager of the Ontario Safety League.

The league is a non-profit, public interest organization that focuses on road and community safety in existence since 1913.

Patterson is an experienced board member on many organizations in the field of safety. He brings 25 years of safety and security experience to the league and has been active in the area of road safety since 1987 as the founding chairman of Canada’s largest cellular phone safety program.

Patterson has thrice received awards of recognition from the Governor General for his volunteer activities including extensive work with homeless initiatives in the greater GTA area.

“It is imperative for our organization to maintain its presence as a leading voice in promoting safety through Education for all Ontario road users.

In the first 92 years of our history, Ontario road users came to the League for direction in road safety and to maintain our leadership role in traffic safety, we have listened to the needs of people and we are implementing a new action plan for traffic safety throughout Ontario. Ontario Safety League will build on and promote the League’s principles of safety across Ontario, by developing partnerships and sharing resources with all stakeholders, road users and the broader community,” Patterson said.
