REGINA, Sask. — With winter weather already hitting some areas of the country, Saskatchewan’s Ministry of Transportation is reminding drivers about the province’s Highway Hotline.

“The road information system we have developed uses the latest technology in providing information to the travelling public, business, industry and people in rural areas,” says Transportation Minister, Mark Wartman. “This is a valuable asset for highway safety.”

The hotline provides recorded information 24-hours-a-day and is updated three times a day during the winter. It’s a toll-free service and can also be accessed on the department’s Web site.

Weight restriction and out-of-province road information are also available. For information about road conditions, call 888 335-7623. If in Regina, call 306 787-7623 and while in Saskatoon call 306 933-8333.

To access the service online, visit www.highways.gov.sk.ca
