Schenker gets in holiday spirit with charity drive

MISSISSAUGA, Ont. — With the Christmas holiday season just around the corner, Schenker of Canada is reaching out to its employees, suppliers, partners and the transportation industry, looking for donations for the less fortunate.

The company is asking for donations of new, unwrapped toys for children (newborn to 16 years of age) and new or gently used clothing for both children and parents to be dropped off at one of Schenker Canada’s 40-plus offices across the country. Donations can be dropped off from Nov. 2-Dec. 18.

Organizers are asking donors not to forget those children aged 10 to 16 who are often overlooked in favour of younger kids. After Dec. 18, items collected will be delivered to local charitable organizations in each community.

“This holiday season will be very difficult for many Canadian families – and their children in particular,” said Brian Martin, vice-president of sales and marketing for Schenker of Canada. “We’re trying to do our best to help make this Holiday Season a happy one for Canadians in need.”

Those interested in making donations or looking to get involved in the Holiday Charity Drive campaign can call 800-461-3686 or visit www.dbschenker.com/ca.
