Second avalanche forces another TCH closure

REVELSTOKE, B.C. — A second avalanche in as many days has forced the closure of the Trans-Canada Hwy. between Golden and Revelstoke, B.C.

Yesterday morning another avalanche was dumped on the highway just east of Revelstoke. It meastured 100 metres wide and two metres deep. Two semis were caught in the avalanche but there were no injuries reported.

Yesterday, officials reported the highway would be closed until at least this morning. Eastbound drivers are being forced to detour along Hwy. 93 south to Cranbrook while crews work to clear the snow.
