Shaw takes on Service to Industry Award sponsorship

TORONTO — The Ontario Trucking Association has announced that Shaw Tracking is the new sponsor of the OTA Service to Industry Award.

The award is bestowed on a trucking executive and recognizes an individual in recognition of their commitment, contribution, and dedication to the trucking industry in Ontario.

The recipient is selected by a committee comprised of past chairmen of the association, many of whom are previous recipients themselves and it is presented each year at the OTA’s annual convention in November.

The award was previously sponsored by Trailmobile Canada, which went bankrupt earlier this year. Yesterday, Manac announced it was buying Trailmobile’s assets.

OTA President David Bradley thanked Shaw Tracking for taking on the sponsorship of the award saying, "We’re very proud of the Service to Industry award and Shaw’s participation is instrumental in making sure we can continue to present it."

Mike Ham, Shaw’s VP of Business Services, said he’s pleased his company could sponsor an award known "as the highest honor bestowed upon an executive in the Ontario trucking industry."

Shaw also sponsors the Dispatcher of Year Award, which too is given out at the OTA conference and other provincial trucking association events.
