MISSISSAUGA, Ont. — Shaw Tracking has presented the Saskatchewan Trucking Associations (STA) 2007 Dispatcher of the Year Award to Darren Phillips of Edge Transportation Services.

With the challenges our industry continues to face, such as the new Hours-of-Service rules and the push for electronic on-board recorders, the demand on a company to run safe and legally has never been more serious, said Shaw officials in a release. To manage these challenges it is key to have the right personnel in your operations and that is why we are here today to recognize one of these outstanding people. A dispatchers role is to keep their drivers happy, by getting them miles and getting them home, keep the customers happy by getting their freight delivered on time and hopefully in one piece and keep their management happy by not letting them know if anything has actually gone wrong.
